Hey I have a wax worm question!

I plan to feed my leopard geckos a few wax worms for their Christmas present. I was wanting it to be a once a year thing but I realized that the rest of the worms would go to waste . So is once a month to much to feed them a wax worm? What is the life expectancy of wax worms? So maybe every two months is a better option. Also is one or two acceptable to get them on the days I do feed wax worms? sorry for all the questions I just want the best heath for my geckos.

well, what frequency is it OK for you to eat a double big mac, large fries, and large shake for a meal? it's pretty equivalent in terms of nutrition.

I know it's really fatty so I only wanted it to be a treat once every year I just didn't want to rest to go to waste but if once a month or every two months is a bad idea then I won't. I just want the best for my geckos health so if it is wiser to not feed them wax worms at all I won't do so either.

To be quite serious, skip ANY waxworms! Waxworms are basically pure fat, like humans eating brie or Baskin Robbins high premium ice cream!

How about ordering some hornworms for your leos, a treat that also provides nutrients? :) Check out the Hornworm Guidelines on GU for their care.
