Double shed

Pongo started shedding about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Yesterday I was checking on him and noticed that in addition to the dry skin helmet he was wearing his body was white again. Last night he started shedding again before he even finished the first shed. I though that was interesting. This morning all is well again. In addition to shedding again he was able to shed everything perfectly. Head, toes, body, and tail. I had never seen a lizard start shedding again while in the middle of an first shed.

How old is he? My gecko shed twice within 10 days. I assumed it was because he was small and underweight when I got him. Is he growing rapidly? Eating a lot?

By the way, Elizabeth Freer helped me understnad that shedding is supposed to be complete, all at once, including the head. It shouldn't take 1.5 weeks to get the head shed off.

I had to give my Gecko a warm bath for 20 minutes to get all the shed off because he wasn't using a humid hide.

Do you have a humid hide for your gecko?

I've helped him get stuck shed off before. I was going started to help him yesterday but noticed he was going to shed again completely. This morning he had shed completely (even his head which is usually where he stops). And he had pooped out all of the skin.

This is what happens when you have a triple shed and none are complete..

Is he getting enough vitamin A?

I think it's a case of re-shedding part 2 of unshed skin. I will rule out the case of double shedding via high humidity as that is impossible unless you keep your leo in a 90-100% relative humidity as was the case with the skinks I left at my resort house in the Philippines
