Worried

I have a 9.5" female that is 60 grams. I only feed her Dubias. No fat (or little). She is petfectly healthy, fighting shape, active, what gives?

I'm Impulsively bought mealworms for fat content but am wondering if I raised a healthy LG and am wondering because of the fatty prey used by most if I need her to get back to 70+?

Wow. I go out of the country for a month and this place is dead! J/K

I was looking for a answer from a member so I can reassure myself and most importantly not go through old spread sheets and research.

Elizabeth wheres my short cut!?

I don't see what the problem is. 60 grams, in good shape, should be fine. I have found that some geckos are destined to be 100 gram geckos and some to be 60 gram geckos. I know creatures need some fat reserves, but I don't see why they'd need extra fat. If she's active and eating I would suggest just going with her as she is.

Leopard1, Your Gecko looks good, sometimes it seems like the actual weight doesn't matter when they are healthy and have a nice full tail. I think my Vastra is small for a year old LG. I guess some are gonna run smaller.

I knew the Dubia Diet would cause weight loss. 15+ grams was a little shocking.

Oh well, Fatty Gecko (0) Abbas (1).

bear in mind that a lot of keepers seem to prefer their girls on the chubby side, and to grow fast; neither of these is necessarily any good for the gecko. she looks healthy to me.
