Couldn't pass up this nearly solid orange tail!!! So Super Hypo and Carrot tail, not sure on the tangerine. Perhaps more tangerine will develop as it grows? It's still only like 5-6inches, still has room to grow.

Oh I love the orange tail! Won't it be fun to watch this one grow and mature! :)

I'm very excited, yes. Watching them change is one of the best parts of raising them!
So far it's looking female, but who knows what the next few months bring!

What a special leo, Rachel! Thanks for sharing. :D

Hehe, I figured this was a gem worth sharing. Sorry I've been away from the forum for a while!

I've missed you. I'm happy that you check in now and then. That's much better than never.

How are Cocoa and Butters?

They have been doing great! Both are fat, happy and healthy! Ever since I switched to dubias for their main diet staple, their health has improved exponentially.

Also, I will finally be working on their naturalistic setup soon in the big 40gal--I'll definitely be sharing process pictures while I work on it.

Hello! Just wanted to post an update on how the little one is doing. Pictures aren't the greatest, but there are definitely some changes. I'm surprised by how much orange has faded out in the tail, it's looking more mottled now. And I think I'm seeing some orange starting to show in the legs, but that could just be the lighting.

This was my first time handling without having to use a box or a hide. Very calm and sweet for a small baby. Even got a head massage and everything. Still trying to think of a name; probably still safe to say this is a female so far.
