I have seen others do this too. First time I saw it, I got scared and thought the same thing you did. Glad Treecko is alive and well though!

I know, I was just joking ;-) My gecko does it too, but just in his hides. I think he really appreciates the eco earth I recently put in his moist hide. He just burrows his head in it and uses it as a pillow
