Mold/Fungus in the drainage layer

I am getting mold/fungus in the drainage later of some of my terrariums. I use lava rock as the drainage layer then screen and then on the top I use a mix of a little bit of sand/jungle earth/spagnum moss grinded up/fir or cypress mulch. I mist once at night and let it dry out during the day yet it seems know matter what I do I still get this white fuzzy stuff growing on the lava rock or between the glass and top layer. Very little on the surface. I was thinking not enough air flow or to much h20 so I have been trying to let it try out a bit.

I've had it on and off for years. I don't worry about it.

Do you have a clean up crew? Springtails live in the drainage layer and in the substrate and eat mold and poop. I also have isopods that eat dead leaves and poop and mold. I would give the springtails a try.

I have a pretty considerable cleanup crew and I still get some mold periodically but it's never done any harm and eventually disappears.

I got a cleanup crew and everything. Most likely just going to redo it. It onlt appears on the lava rock under the screen.

I have a new setup and have picked up, but not added yet, a product called Great White to add bacterias and fungi. I want to tip the balance towards chosen varieties to out-compete any possible nasties. I'm not sure that the current bioload of hatchlings, new materials and clean-up crews is enough without help.
