Does anyone have the ZooMed temperature controller?

What position do you put it in for the warm side. I have a 20 gallon long tank and when I set it to the middle between 80 and 90 it still goes past 90.. Any advice?

I have it turned down just below the 80 section, and the heat source light has gone off. Does that mean it won't work, or will it still work?

Good news is I've turned it down and it looks like it's stabilizing. I'll just have to keep monitoring the temperatures

do you have a heat mat? heat mats are much better for leopard geckos than lamps. if a heat mat isnt enough heat, then i recommend getting a ceramic heat emitter (CHE) for extra heat

No I have a heat mat and a rheostat for it but the temperature is still too high. It's currently at 99 and I don't know how to bring it down

Buy a thermostat! Thermostats will turn the heat source off and on to moderate the heat! Rheostats will not. Set it for 91*F. Most thermostats vary a few degrees from the actual setting up and down before they turn off or turn on again.

Here's a temperature guide for all leopard geckos as measured by the probe of a digital thermometer
  • 88-92 F (31.1-33.3 C) ground temperature right underneath a leo's warm dry hide
  • no greater than 82ish F (27.8ish C) air temperature - 4 inches above ground on the warm end
  • no greater than 75 F (23.9 C) air temperature - 4 inches above ground on the cool end
Leave the UTH on 24/7. Turn off overhead lighting/heating at night (~12 hours on and ~12 hours off) unless ambient room temperatures drop lower than 67ish*F (19.4*C) during the night.

I recommend you get rid of the lamp. The temperature will probably be good without it, and your gecko is better off without it

No biggie :) Sorry if my last post sounded rude.

I've been checking the temperature and SOMEHOW my thermostat decided to properly work so now my temperature is at about 89-90 degrees :)

I'm just confirming that you have a thermostat, not a rheostat. They serve quite different purposes.
