I recently "adopted" a leo from craigslist, and he came with a 10 gallon set up. Is this big enough? He is an adult male, and has a log hide and a rock hide, and repti carpet, along with like the heater and stuff. Some people say 10, others say 20.... Thanks!

When I got my first reptile in 2003, the prevailing wisdom seemed to be that a 10 gallon was sufficient. Most people now feel that a 20 gallon long (30"x12") is best. Ray Roehner, in his "Leopard Gecko Advisor" book, recommends an exoterra 18x18. I feel the longer size (as opposed to the 10 gallon) is best for 2 reasons:
--it's really hard to fit all the required "furniture" in a 10 gallon
--it's harder to maintain a proper heat gradient in a 10 gallon
