How fast do they grow?

I've had a baby leopard gecko about two months now, he's awesome- loves his food, taming down great, growing like mad. Not really sure if a male or female yet though.

He's five months old and seven inches long. I know they usually take about a year to mature, but how long do they tend to be at five or six months old? Can this help in determining whether he's a male or female before other signs show up? His mother was also a giant, and I don't know if he inherited the trait or not, or how that affects their growth rate as juveniles. He also still wants to eat every day.

I find that different leopard geckos have very different growth rates. Two examples:
--when I was breeding, the range of weight in 4 month old leopard geckos went from 7 grams to 51 grams!
--I had clutch mates kept together (for awhile). One was starving by Day2 and the other not so much. I separated them once the size differential got too great (the bigger one was not keeping the smaller one from eating, the smaller one just didn't want as much. This didn't change when they were separated). I think when I separated them the bigger one weighed 40 grams and the smaller one weighed 25 grams.
