Scooby Gets A Bigger Tank!!!

I finally broke down and got my Scooby a bigger tank.
He's been in a 10 gallon tank, since he was 8 months old, when I bought him back in January.
Here's his old tank:

He will be one year old on May 9th, and he's gotten substantially bigger since I bought him. Went to PetSmart and purchased an All Living Things 20 gallon long tank. I also bought a nice stand from Petco. Got myself a nice Galapagos tank cling for the background. And bought a bunch of new plants from PetSmart (most of them are from the aquarium section). I had fun decorating. I wanted him to feel like he was "in the wild", LOL.

Anyway, I was worried that Scooby was gonna stress out about moving into a new tank, since he just shed two days ago, but he ate a bunch of bugs lastnight, so he's back to normal, LOL. So today was the big move for him. I had it all set up and ready to switch rather quickly. I grabbed a couple last minute pieces from his old tank that I was still using, which I think was comforting for him - to "smell" things in his new tank that were familiar. It's funny, I rarely if ever pick him up, and was kinda worried he was going to be difficult, but he could not have been any calmer. He was a good boy, and let me scoop him up and sit him in his new tank. I was worried he was gonna immediately disappear into a hide, but no, he walked around the new tank for hours. Checking out every nook and cranny, going in and out of hides, climbing on top of them, and walking through his huge water dish (he loves water). I am so happy he's taking to his new habitat. Hopefully, he'll eat tonight without a problem.

Here's Scooby in his new 20 gallon long "condo":

I can tell that Scooby loves his condo. See how happy he looks!

It's an awesome birthday present. Everything "works". The Galapagos tank cling ties it all together.

He is in awe of his new tank. I think he wore himself out exploring it today. It seems he has decided he likes the moist hide, which surprised me...I thought he'd head into his old warm hide (which is now his cool hide), since it's familiar to him, but no, he likes this dark/enclosed moist hide alot. So far, so good.

Looks great! I'm sure Scooby loves the extra space.
I love all the plants and the hides. It really ties all together into an awesome looking tank!

Thanks! Apparently, Scooby is in sulking mode tonight, as he's not coming out of the moist hide to eat. I guess the move is catching up to him now. Geckos get weird when they change tanks (or have their tank rearranged). They shut down for a bit and stay hidden til they feel more safe and comfortable in their new space. I wonder how long this will last? We'll see...

Yep, geckos can do some odd things at times, but I'm sure Scooby will get over it quickly and come to enjoy the new space!

Thanks. I think he's gonna love his new tank. He had just grown so much bigger than my last "normal" leopard gecko, and he's just coming up on his first birthday next week, so I think he's still got some more growing to do (possibly?), and I just wanted him to have a bit more space than my last leo who lived in a 10 gallon tank for 17 years. I do believe a leo can live in a 10 gallon tank though, and live a long healthy life. I guess I just wanted to spoil my gecko a bit. He's been such a good pet. And it's also alot of fun to setup a new tank as well. I really enjoyed picking things out and giving it a certain look. It was a fun project.
