Meet Spot and Scratch
Spot and Scratch are two female leopard geckos that were adopted from a local reptile expo on March 18, 2018. They were juveniles when I bought them and I've been told by the vendor that they are Snow Bell morphs. At first glance they look alike, but they have different patterning that makes them easy to tell apart.

They've grown a bit since I've had them but they still have a lot more growing to do! They eat like crazy and I've had to stock up on feeders weekly or bi-weekly depending on how many I get. I use dubia roaches for their diet staple but also feed them crickets, mealworms, and occasionally other worms like waxworms. I'm a huge advocate for varied diet, it's very enriching for most animals. Spot loves to hunt while Scratch wants to sit and let me feed her all day.

Here's a video of them eating: https://youtu.be/kBCCndw68fY

My most recent endeavor is to start a feeder roach colony for them. I have been buying the feeder roaches from the pet store but it's common for them to be out of stock when I go. Thus I want to start breeding a steady supply. However, it's been difficult even to find a couple adult roaches for breeding so I've been learning how to sex the feeder nymphs I have and may just let them grow to adults and breed from there.

Hey, they look nice. Scratch is definitely a Bell albino, Spot looks more like a Las vegas albino to me. Good that you are trying to provide variety of food. BUT.. the sand is a really bad idea. Get them on tiles or rocks if you wanna keep things clean (I don't advise using a reptile carpet) or go bioactive if you wanna keep things more natural.

It's been more work than I thought learning how to take care of geckos and there's been a lot of controversial info online regarding gecko care (such as whether to use calcium sand or not, etc.) Anyway, what I'm trying to say is I'm here to talk about geckos. Hope to be an an active member

Welcome to Geckos Unlimited!

We all begin somewhere. It's about your leos' calci-sand substrate. That's one of the worst products "out there" for reptiles. Calci-sand encourages reptiles to lick sand to get calcium. That's not a good idea at all. Leos can quite easily become severely impacted by doing such.

Please remove all calci-sand from Spot's and Scratch's enclosure right away.

An easy and safe substrate is textured ceramic tile (~1/4 inch thick) from somewhere like Lowe's or Home Depot. Lowe's will cut it to your specs. Tile conducts heat well, is easy to clean, and is permanent.

After you get experience under your belt, consider a naturalistic substrate.

How are you set for powdered supplements?

This is supposed to be a "meet and greet" thread, so please do not turn it into a husbandry discussion.

If the OP wants to ask for advice, it can be done in a proper thread, in the correct sub-form.

Hey! Welcome to GU! Your geckos look so cute and adorable! If your looking to start breeding dubia consider checking out Rainbow Mealworms and Crickets. They sell adult dubia with both males and females so that you can start your very own colony!

Thanks for comments and advice :)

I did end up switching them to slate tile with minimalistic usage of sand (just to fill in the gaps between the tile so they don't get their feet stuck and so that the dubias can't hide out there.)
I have started up my dubia colony, just have to wait for babies now.
Regarding supplements I am all good on that. I have both powdered & spray versions.

I cleaned out their entire tank yesterday and realized how much bigger they have grown since I first got them. They each have to have their own plastic container! It's no surprise though...they eat like crazy.

Have also started feeding calci worms (black soldier fly larvae) sometimes, they seem to enjoy them pretty well.

Not really having issues, was just replying to previous posts ;-)
I posted some concerns in the appropriate sections of the forum and got them answered by this awesome community. My girls are still doing great!

Here's some updated pics. Lighting was really bad and yellowy so I edited the best I could.
