Introducing crickets into my leos diet

I just got my little girl Gabby last Thursday. She's been eating mealworms every night and I'd like to introduce crickets into her diet for variety . She's used to me dropping them into her hide and then eats them (getting better at hunting and doesn't miss as much now lol). Should I do the same with crickets or remove hides/decorations, drop them in and let her try and hunt them?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I do remove the decorations at feeding time (except for the water bowl because that's a pain) when feeding most of my geckos.

So I think the crickets I got are way too small(pinhead size which was suggested by the guy at the mom and pop shop) and would be waaaay to fast for her. Should I try medium ones instead? She eats medium to large size mealworms with no problem.

For my worst hunters, I remove everything except the water dish.
I only feed pinhead crickets to my 1 1/2" long adult Sphaerodactylus. If I were feeding hatchling leopard geckos crickets, I wouldn't go smaller than 1/4".

My little girl got a little scared when I took everything out. Didn’t care about the mealworms I dropped in. I put her hot hide back in, she quickly went back in and waited at the front for meal worms. Little Gabby is such a little diva lol.

I’ll get medium crickets and she if she’ll chase them. For some reason I think she will.
