I was trying to get a look in my gecko's mouth earlier, which she very much hates me doing. When she finally let me get a decent look I was able to see into her throat a bit - and in her upper throat it looked like she had thick dark veins on the topside of her throat. I had a bright white light pointing towards us so I could get the best look I could. I know their skin is kind of transparent, so is there any chance it was because of the light? They were fairly dark and thick compared to how I imagine their veins be. I've never seen anything like it in my research, she's my first gecko and I'm really worried.
So here comes my question, does mouth rot ever vein out like that? Kind of like tree branches. If it does I'm very concerned about how it's down her throat a bit - although her mouth in general doesn't look like she has mouth rot. Her appetite has been pretty regular for her lately, it's inconsistent after a while of not wanting food. I'm taking her to a vet latest end of February. She needs a general check-up but if this is something serious I will take her in earlier. I can't get a photo but I hope I described this well.
