Vomiting watery liquid

Hi there,

My Leopard Gecko has been unwell recently, after having an x-ray at the vets, they discovered she had two urate plugs and they got them out.
She also finished a course of antibiotics as she looked like she was having difficulties breathing.

This was two weeks ago, she has eaten three mealworms and 4 super worms so far since then. She also drinks from her bowl.

The past few days i noticed her 'toilet' corner was wet and last night i tried to feed her a worm, which she licked a few times, followed and then went back to her cave and ignored it. Shortly after that she walked out of her cave quite fast, opened her mouth,closed it, and then when she got to her 'toilet' corner she opened her mouth again and vomited a lot of watery liquid (looked like clear water), she also shook her head while she done this and wiped her mouth on the ground and squeeked.

She is quite lively in herself, pokes her head out of her cave showing interest in (the outside world) and she's happy to be handled.


I'm hoping someone will be able to advise/help me.

Did your leo have an upper respiratory infection that caused breathing difficulties? Has she a humid hide that sits totally on top of the heat mat? Is it moist just about 24/7?

How old is this leo? Please share a picture of her "whole" self.

She wasn't diagnosed with a UTI, i taken her to the vets as she wasn't eating, they then prescribed me Baytril, i then discovered foamy white liquid, looked like vomit so i taken her back and they changed the oral antibiotics to the injections, this stopped the vomiting. I assume the oral form wasn't working well with her empty stomach.
Her x ray was sent to an exotic specialist and the only thing he noticed wrong was that her back end was a bit 'full'.
She doesn't seem to be showing any signs of a uti.

Her humid hide is on the cool side, it is an exo terra 45x45 so spacing is quite limited, i have her warm hide on the heatmat, humid hide with moss on the other side. water and food bowls over on the cool side.
I mist her humid hide every day if needed so it is moist but not damp, i change the moss once a week.
I have owned her for 2 years, i am unsure of her exact age as i got her from a store. I hope the image is useful.

You're welcome. Your picture helps! About how long is she?

Sometimes when leos do use cool moist hides they catch respiratory tract infections like pneumonia. Maybe that's why your leo never used it.

Have you considered upgrading her enclosure to a 30 x 12 x 12 inch tall own? I "think" PetSmart carries front opening ones (Zilla ?).
