Self regulating water bowls/waterfalls...?

Is it possible to put a miniature DIY waterfall that doubles as a shallow water dish? I'm not sure if this would cause a major humidity issue or not. Thoughts?

I think it would cause a humidity problem and the feeders can drown in there (more easily than in a water dish).
