Here is Lagarto. My new Leo.
He or she is doing great. Getting bigger fast and tail is fattening up. He poops on his little paper towel pad just like a cat. Eats a couple crickets or meal worms everyday.
I just added the Arcadia DHE and tiles to his 24x18x12 enclosure.

I have calcium with d, calcium with vitamins, and just calcium.
I gutload my own crickets and mealworms with fresh fruit, coleslaw mix and cricket feed. And water gel.
I rotate my calcium mix and some not days.

I figure he or she’s about 4 1/2 months old. Maybe
Weighed 22.85 grams on Dec 23rd. I’ll weigh it tomorrow again. Weekly.

About 6.25” . He chirped at me for the first time measuring him. Cute little bugger yelling at me.
And he or she now weighs 28.17 grams. That’s a 5.3gram change from 7 days ago. Does that seem right?
He does seem a lot bigger than when I bought him.

May I ask which brand are your supplements? Supplements are all somewhat different.

Here's a good nutrition chart on reliable foods for insects and worms. However, insects and worms need a good dry diet as well. Not everything can be supplied with plant-based foods.

#148---***Gutload Recommendations for Bugs and Worms***......Olimpia -- August 2013

"Lettuce (except dark, leafy greens) is just water and nutritionally irrelevant. People don't even give lettuce to tortoises and iguanas because it's worthless as food. The same could be said for potatoes. Fish flakes are very high in protein and this can lead to a build-up of uric acid in feeders/reptiles and end up causing gout. A little now and then is fine but this should never be the bulk of any gutload.

"A commercial gutloading food like Bug Burger or Superload (both by Repashy), Cricket Crack, Dinofuel, etc. is going to make your life easier AND provide a nutritious diet to your crickets at the same time. Avoid Fluker's gutloads, as they are super feeble in their formulas.

"If you opt for making your own gutload at home, here is a list of great ingredients to use:
Best: mustard greens, turnip greens, dandelion leaves, collard greens, escarole lettuce, papaya, watercress, and alfalfa.
Good: sweet potato, carrots, oranges, mango, butternut squash, kale, apples, beet greens, blackberries, bok choy, and green beans.
Dry food: bee pollen, organic non-salted sunflower seeds, spirulina, dried seaweed, flax seed, and organic non-salted almonds.
Avoid as much as possible: potatoes, cabbage, iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, corn, grains, beans, oats, bread, cereal, meat, eggs, dog food, cat food, fish food, canned or dead insects, vertebrates.

Have you had reptiles in the past?

You must be feeding him well. :) Leos grow at different rates.

Have you tried sexing Lagarto?

Sexing Leopard Geckos -- A leopard gecko's gender can be confirmed when that leo is over 5 inches in total length. That may happen when the leo is near 6 months old. Males can be distinguished from females by a distinct /\-shaped row of pores above the vent and by two hemipenal bulges below the vent. To see their vents, potential male pores, and hemipenal bulges gently press their bodies up against the glass. They'll squirm if you try to turn them over.

Not sexed him yet. Will when I get a piece of glass to set him on.
Slaw mix is cabbage and carrots that I feed crickets. And apples, cranberries, carrots and I add dry cricket food into mix.
I follow some you tube Leo vids and reptile ones and have for a while now. Have had iguanas years ago but moved and had to give them to a friend.
Aqua culture brand cricket feeder diet dry mix
Flukers cricket quencher ..calcium fortified
Rep-cal calcium with D3
Repti Calcium.. pure calcium
Mealworms eat about the same. I buy fresh insects every week and a half or so. Refresh my bugs. I get crickets about 25 at a time. Feed at least a day before. Change food regularly for insects.

Lagarto is Spanish for lizard. I’ll probably change it after I sex it. Upcoming news or pics to come.

That protein may be a little high, especially since it says minimum.

For insects and worms destined for gecko bellies I prefer a dry diet with these levels of those specific ingredients.
Protein: 15-20%
Fat: Less than 5%
Calcium : phosphorus ratio 2 parts calcium to 1 part phosphorus
+ some vitamin A actetate (retinol) in the dry diet
As far as I'm aware, geckos still require a small amount of retinol to "activate" any beta carotene. A study was done in 2015-2016 that may have shown differently. However, the sample size was only 10 leopard geckos and there was no control group.

For link 152 click: Evaluation of β-carotene assimilation in leopard geckos (Eublepharis macularius) -- 2015/2016 research

Cricket Crack dry diet contains vitamin A palmitate. That's a good source of vitamin A too.
