I'm getting a leopard gecko for the first time and I was planning on feeding it just mealworms and waxworms and the worm variety of food. I've read this isn't ideal for the gecko because they also should eat crickets, but I can't keep crickets. I was originally planning on getting a frog but my parents (i'm 15) wouldn't let me because they were freaked out by the idea of keeping live crickets. They settled for a gecko when they learned it didn't just eat crickets, but i still can't have any live crickets in the house.
I also heard I could use roaches as an alternative, and that they were easier to keep than crickets, but my mom has an intense fear of roaches so I can't do that either.
What should i do? Is it ok to feed my gecko just the worms? Is there some other food I can give it besides crickets or roaches that still adds variety to its diet?
