2 Y/o female constipated

My 2 year old female leo was really sick and lethargic a while back, and was not pooping or eating for weeks. I got advice on here, she got better and pooped a few times, but now she hasn't pooped for 3 or 4 weeks. But this time, she's very active, alert and eager to eat, but I'm concerned about her gut. I don't feed her on a schedule, so I feed her based on if she seems hungry, every couple days. Lately I've been feeding her less because she has not been pooping, but may be passing urates. Over the past couple weeks she's eaten about 10 mealworms, and a dubia roach. I would feed her more dubias but they got too big for her to eat so her diet is mostly mealworms. I'm going to be giving her warm baths, and I'll check to see if she just switched her bathroom spot. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hello Geckoliv3 ~

Here's the 3rd video you shared on your former thread.

On your 3rd video on May 11, 2021 notice that Daphne's right front "arm" is folding under her body as she walks. That causes her to lean to one side. That's an early sign of Metabolic Bone Disease!

Please share a current 60 second video that shows both sides of Daphne walking.

Daphne needs 3 separate hides: warm DRY, warm HUMID, & cool DRY.

  1. What is the floor/ground temp inside Daphne's warm DRY hide? An analog (circle) thermometer ONLY shows ballpark temps. Can you get a yellow Zoo Med digital thermometer with a probe? PetCo carries those for about $10.
  2. Have you been lightly dusting her prey with Repashy's Calcium Plus multivitamins on a regular schedule? WithOUT a regular source of vitamin D3, she may become D3 deficient. It's important to offer a leo food on a regular basis too.
    3. Repashy's Calcium Plus multivitamins -- Feeding & Supplementing ADULT leopard geckos ~ Feed 2x per week.
    • Mondays ~ feed (no dusting)
    • Thursdays ~ feed & dust prey with Repashy's Calcium Plus (all-in-one) multivitamins
  3. Daphne will be better off when you supply regular dusting with reputable products instead of leaving ANY supplement in her enclosure. There's always a chance of ODing on the supplements IF left up to the lizard.
  4. How often do you see her basking under the low watt halogen bulb?
  5. Does she have a separate UVB source?
  6. Did you relocate Daphne's humid hide to the warm end of her enclosure? Warmth & humidity go hand-in-hand?
In addition to what I mentioned on your May 2021 thread, can you purchase some very small hornworms for her? Last I saw PetCo was selling hornworms in 4-packs. Hornworms are full of moisture. They may help especially if she's dehydrated. Hornworms mushroom in size just about overnight.

Geckoliv3, I've merged your two threads into this one, since it's the same gecko, and most likely a continuation of the same problem.

Hello again. I'm really sorry for going silent. I made the second post out of concern. But very soon after she got even better. She still has a high appetite, and she's very energetic. She chases food, jumps to catch it, climbs around, and feels comfortable in her favorite hide.I've been feeding her more responsibly, she eats dubias more often than mealworms rather than only mealworms like before, and she gets d3 calcium + multivitamin powder on them. And most importantly she regularly poops, lol. I'm really glad she's so much better and I've learned my lesson from back in May. Issues like this don't just appear, they come from negligence, even if I had well intentions and love my pet. Thank you so much for helping me!
