General Health
If your gecko is sick, please describe the signs and how long your gecko has been showing these signs:
Alright, so Leonides has been lethargic and slowed for the past three months, though his eyes have been bad for the last two. In October, His eyes seemed fine when checked, only problem was a very slight gray rim on the insides. Around November, he closed his right eye and hasn't opened it since, which is very strange. Around that time, the rim got thicker and Leo had a bit of a problem noticing far-away food, mealworms had to be nudged to an inch in front of him. His reflexes suffered too, he couldn't catch crickets any more on his own. In december, Leo's left eye closed a lot and had a lot of the gray stuff, as well as getting cloudy. Now, he barely opens his left eye and when he does I can notice a very thick gray covering of his eye.

Is your gecko’s general activity level normal, decreased, or increased? Decreased
Is your gecko’s appetite normal, decreased, or increased? Barely reacts to food unless food is in direct contact
Have you noticed any of the following?
Weight (loss or gain): No
Discharge from the eyes or nose: Gray mucus-like stuff on the insides of his eyelids, grey mucus all over right eye
Increased breathing rate or effort: No
Change in the droppings: No
Urates
---white or yellowish:
---size of urates as compared to size of feces:
Abnormal skin color or shedding: When shedding, skin on the belly and crotch area does not fall off easily
Parasites on the skin or in the feces: No, don't think so
Weakness: Abnormally lethargic

Previous problems and/or illnesses: None, actually

Other Critters in Same Cage or in Household
List other animals that are kept in the same cage: None
Recent acquisitions (new pets within the past 6 months): Petsmart gecko, gotten two weeks ago (any help with new geckos would be great)
Are any of your other pets ill? No

I'll get pictures soon, so if you could help a little based on description I would be grateful.

Hello ~

Welcome to Geckos Unlimited!

There are many improvements you can make to give Leonides a better life. Here are some of them:

1. Upgrade his enclosure. A 10 gallon enclosure is too small even for a juvenile leo much less a 90 gram gecko. :-(
2. Advise a vet trip to recheck his eye. Depending upon internet "medicine" is not good. Any chance this began with stuck shed? However, we are way beyond that now. Try gentle cleansing with a normal saline solution.
3. Some amount of vitamin A acetate is important for healthy eyes. No supplements at all including a frequent use of any calcium with D3 during his entire life? Zoo Med's Reptivite with D3/A acetate could help, but see vet promptly.
4. Recommend a good quality digital thermometer with a probe asap. (Circle analog thermometers are often way off.)
5. 85 F is too cool for the warm temps. Many people here recommend 88-93*F for the warm end.
6. Needs 3 hides 24/7.
7. Photos please.

Temperatures for all leos regardless of size across an enclosure at least 30 inches long:
88-93 F (31-34 C) ground temp at warm end inside the warm dry hide
no greater than 85 F (29.5 C) air temp - 4 inches above ground on the warm end
no greater than 75 F (24.5 C) air temp - 4 inches above ground on the cool end

Leave the UTH on 24/7. Can turn off overhead heating at night unless the ambient room temperatures are particularly cool during the night.

There is an extremely comprehensive caresheet linked right below in my signature. Please take a thorough read. :)

You need a moist hide in the warm side of the enclosure 24/7, not just for when you think the Leo is getting ready to shed. That will help eliminate some of the stuck shed issues. There are other issues here but I believe Elizabeth covered most in her post above.

Until you get the basic husbandry correct Leonides will continue to do poorly.
