General Health
If your gecko is sick, please describe the signs and how long your gecko has been showing these signs:
Alright, so Leonides has been lethargic and slowed for the past three months, though his eyes have been bad for the last two. In October, His eyes seemed fine when checked, only problem was a very slight gray rim on the insides. Around November, he closed his right eye and hasn't opened it since, which is very strange. Around that time, the rim got thicker and Leo had a bit of a problem noticing far-away food, mealworms had to be nudged to an inch in front of him. His reflexes suffered too, he couldn't catch crickets any more on his own. In december, Leo's left eye closed a lot and had a lot of the gray stuff, as well as getting cloudy. Now, he barely opens his left eye and when he does I can notice a very thick gray covering of his eye.
Is your gecko’s general activity level normal, decreased, or increased? Decreased
Is your gecko’s appetite normal, decreased, or increased? Barely reacts to food unless food is in direct contact
Have you noticed any of the following?
Weight (loss or gain): No
Discharge from the eyes or nose: Gray mucus-like stuff on the insides of his eyelids, grey mucus all over right eye
Increased breathing rate or effort: No
Change in the droppings: No
Urates
---white or yellowish:
---size of urates as compared to size of feces:
Abnormal skin color or shedding: When shedding, skin on the belly and crotch area does not fall off easily
Parasites on the skin or in the feces: No, don't think so
Weakness: Abnormally lethargic
Previous problems and/or illnesses: None, actually
Other Critters in Same Cage or in Household
List other animals that are kept in the same cage: None
Recent acquisitions (new pets within the past 6 months): Petsmart gecko, gotten two weeks ago (any help with new geckos would be great)
Are any of your other pets ill? No
I'll get pictures soon, so if you could help a little based on description I would be grateful.
