Belated sad news guys.. My one and only leopard gecko, Denver, passed away when i was at the last leg of my Asian tour :(

My dad and sister was 'looking out' for him while I was away and unfortunately they both sucked at it -__-

Here is his last photo I took before i left the next day:

Rest in peace, Denver your antics will be missed.

Fortunately for me before I left, I did a breeding project with a close friend who has two adult females and it yielded 4 new leopard gecko hatchlings. After he sold 2 of his share, that friend of mine left for Canada a week after I got back. Good news was, he left his two adult breeder females to me upon hearing my loss and as well as got the other two juvies who is Denver's sons.

So without further ado, here is his first and legal wife, Dora - a plump and voluptuous lady in terms of body built

And his mistress, Dida - an almost 11" long lady

Here are the kids, Dude - a skittish and grumpy little boy. A bit skinny as shown when i first got him but he's quite a hearty eater now.

and Denver Jr. - who is a striking resemblance of his dad :D

Who would've thought that a single loss could become quite fruitful :)

Enjoy your weekend guys! ^__^

Great photos of Dora, Dida and the kids Dude and Denver Jr. on all that yellow!

Have they giant genes?

RIP Denver. How old was he? Ailing in any way before you left?

2 years in my care. My dealer said he was about a year old already. He was my first leopard gecko and aliza can testify that he was a success story. He was skinnier than his son when he first arrived. Really thin and wrinkly. He was perfectly fine when i left but that was the peak of summer season as well, from my findings he probably died of heat exhaustion or dehydration though he did have a water bowl. No signs of impaction as well.

As for the genes, I think Dida has some giant genes on her. Many mentioned who saw her in person said she was awfully long for a female lol

Sorry that Denver is gone. 3 years old is really young for a leo. Leos can live to 20 years + in captivity. Did he had a humid hide while you were away?

Have you air conditioning for the hot season? Swamp coolers or even a window model air conditioner for a single room?

I know right. Yes he did have one as for AC not really sure if my sister provided for it while i was away. That's why i gave no souvenirs and local treats for my family once i was back hahahaha!

I did give them pretty specific yet easy instructions. He was okay for the 3 months i was gone then my sister said he looked lethargic -__- to think that he died only a week before i was home. I didn't even get the chance to say goodbye to him in person :(

That's pretty understandable, Neil!

It is sad that you did not get the opportunity to bid him farewell.

Sorry to hear about Denver. Didn't know geckos could have legal spouses. I wonder if I should get mine legally hitched?

Yeah he was a very charming (and feeder cost-efficient) baby. I learned a lot about leos from him and hopefully i can apply everything to the newcomers.

I'm actually surprised that these four have a totally different personalities than denver had. Had to re-think and re-learn everything I've read so far lol

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! Denver was a handsome boy & should have had more time with you! He left behind a lovely family (& secret family) for you though :p I love the way you describe them.
