New little rescue

Yes, ANOTHER rescue...

I got a call from a friend of a friend asking me if I could possibly take a little baby gecko she bought from a pet store yesterday. She brought it home for her 6 year old son, and her husband or boyfriend (whoever he is) told her if she didn't get rid of the "snake" he was going to release it outside, or flush it down the toilet . She was almost in tears over the phone, so I couldn't say no, and I'm glad I didn't, as the little gecko is DARLING definitely a tad skinny, but nothing I'm worried about at this point. He's very active, and has a fantastic feeding response. He's a little dehydrated looking, and definitely in need a good shed.

The first picture is a camera phone pic I snapped when putting him in his new home yesterday. The second picture is our digi cam, and for some reason it dulls down his colors quite a bit.

So far he is doing well, has eaten a couple crickets, and a few dubia :) Hopefully he goes into shed soon, he definitely needs it!

that boy friend is a a**hole! why would someone say their going to kill an animal just because they dont like it? i dont care if he ment it or not. i would have dumped him, she wanted it, if he didnt like then he could have hit the road, if i was her i would have told him "wether you like him or not, i'm keeping him, if you dont like that you know where the door is, dont let it hit you on the way out!"
its a beautiful leo, i love the picture where hes claiming your rock, lol.

Lol, that is one of my favorite pictures...he posed like that for about 2 minutes, not moving an inch. He's a very sweet little thing, and I hope he makes it alright. He is still pooping orange (same color as the SAND he was on) so I really hope that passes alright. He had his first dubia roaches last night, and LOVES them already. I just hope he does as well as my last rescue...she's a horse. Thanks for the comments :)

The worst part about it is that the gecko was a present for their son...poor kid was bawling. I just don't understand some people. I told the woman they are MORE than welcome to come out to our house and see my collection any time they want, and that brightened his face a little. I hope they take me up on the offer.

Thank you for all the nice comments and well wished :)
