Has anyone ever tried the lizard hammock and/or ladder for their leo? i have a 20 gallon long and when get they active at night they'll crawl all over the place and try to climb up the corners, but since they don't have nails I didn't know if they would use it or not... thanks!

The same company that makes the hammock also makes a "lizard ladder" which looks like the hammock, but it's meant to put on the side of the tank so they can climb up it. What works even better, though, is to just put a hide in such a place that they can climb on top of the hide and then onto the hammock. Mine love it, except in one cage they all seem to like to poop on it.

I use it!!! GiGi loves it. But I got a bigger hide so she could climb on top of the hide to get to the hammock. The hammock is like 4 inches above the floor.

Here's a picture. =D The last two are just because she's pretty. Lol.

I use play sand. It's extremely fine grain sand.

I made the set up with GreatStuff foam insulation and grout.

Thanks everyone. =] GiGi LOVES her tank. She's never in her hides anymore. Always on the hammock or on her ramp.

GiGi will sleep on her hammock for literally 9 hours. She'll get down, drink some water, eat some worms, then go back onto the hammock.

Before when she would hide, it would be all the time. Unless I put my hand in the tank then she'd come over to me. But for the most part she'd be in her hide all day and be out and walking around all night.

She's pretty active both during the day and at night. Like a cat. Sleeps for a few hours, then roams, sleeps some more, etc.

When they're comfortable, they'll sleep outside their hides. So when I made her new tank, she was immediately comfortable. I think everyone should make their own tank. It looks good, and it's custom. Not to mention it only cost me $14 to do! She's actually sleeping on her hammock right now too. Lol.

Just go buy Great Stuff from Walmart, it's like $7. And grout is about $6 at home depot or lowes. Then the slate for the hot spot was only $1.20. Plus the sand, which I already had.

Once I'm completely settled in my new apartment, I'm going to get two more 20 longs and make their terrain. I'm getting 2 more geckos at the reptile super show in June, then the other tank is for the babies (once they're big enough to not need moist paper towel as a substrate). The one for the babies is just to hold them until I get families for them. I'll keep probably 2 or 3 of the babies.

I''m still deciding on a male for her... I don't know which one to get. Lol.

Oh and line the tank in plastic wrap. Really tightly too. So you can have a removable piece. My piece is totally removable, and I cut it in half so I can take out only half if I need to adjust something, like the slate.
