The male Gecko threw up 11 days ago, he also pooped on that day. The vomit had 3 undigested butter worms and some black mush that looked like possibly undigested cricket exoskeleton, or superworm(although he has only eaten one in the 30 days i have had him).
I came on here and asked for advice and was told butterworms are like junk food and to let him have a few days tummy rest and go back to crickets. If he did not throw up the cricket all should be ok.
I opted to not feed him for 2 days and then he ate 5 crickets, no vomit. I thought great.
Since then he has refused the next 2 days, then eaten 5, refused the next 2 days, then ate 2, then ate 3, then ate 2 and 1 butterworm.
Now I feel like a heel for not noticing that it had been this many days BUT it has been 12 DAYS SINCE HE HAS POOPED! I really am not sure how it did not dawn on me. I keep a daily log on each reptile in the house, but I have been really sick and have just been jotting down on a sheet 0-p for no poo and #-c for number of crickets in a column. Today I went to enter it into my log on the computer and that is when I discovered the glaring poo problem.
I should also add 7 days ago he shed perfectly.
As I mentioned I have only had him for 30 days, this can not be ok, can it? What can I do, is there anything I can do before having to go to the reptile vet, as I took them on as a favor to a friend of my son's originally believing they were healthy and currently my husband has been laid off since May. I am the only one earning money. So if there is something I can do before having to shut down my home daycare for a day to drive 3 hours away and pay a minimum of $80.00 just for the visit that would be great. If not then i will have to make arrangements for a vet visit. Any ideas to help out here at home would be great, esp. if I am worrying for nothing.
