I have had my leo's for at least four years now and I've always used an undertank heater and a plain light bulb to stimulate daytime and nighttime. Well, since I put tile in my tanks the undertank heather doesn't do anything so I use the normal house light for heating/light which works well, but I think the bright light hurts their eyes. given, they usually are asleep during the day so its not usually an issue, but when they do wake up and come out they squint, but stop as soon as I turn the bright light off. I have a red infrared heat lamp that I hate started using for nighttime use, but should i use this all the time? if i do, wouldn't they get confused if they had no changes in lighting? I'm thinking about keeping my routine the same and just investing in a timer to make sure the bright light isn't on too much? opinions please
