......the side with the undersized eye - but apparently, he's figured out that that isn't his best angle....

Ha, ha, ha...I really like that! ;-)

Thanks for sharing Squint and his issues. Do you think he can see out of the smaller left eye? He looks pretty hefty for a 9 mo!!

He definitely does have vision in that eye - he reacts pretty quickly to things like food that are on that side of him. I suspect his vision on that side is not as good as from the normal eye, though, because he'll often turn his head to look at whatever is interesting him from his good eye. This seems to be especially true of things he's not real familiar with - like cameras :)

can i ask what are some causes to make a hatchling become deformed?

Just like any living creature you get deformities in a new-born. What they area caused by are a number of different reasons. Genetic defects, parasitic or bacterial infections, odd temperature fluctuations, alien experimentation, black body radiation from planet X, Zalgo. :coverlaugh:

i read something somewhere that the first 2 weeks temp determines sex, and then turn up the temp to speed up the hatching time, but i thought this would cause issues, ever heard of that?
