Good day!!

I found an apparently reliable supplier in my country and he breeds Earth roaches, Pycnoscelus surinamensis .... I was wondering if anyone here has used them as a feeder, I Googled it and I couldn't find a lab analysis or nutritional value table... any info would be highly appreciated!! :feedback:

:fight:

There's a feeders forum. Go to the index and post there, I'm sure you'll get better feedback than on here. I've never used them, but I don't doubt they're just as good as any other roach. :) Either way they'll be better than supers, mealies, and waxworms.

I'm not familiar with them either, but as long as they're gut loaded properly, I imagine that they perfectly fine. I wouldn't worry so much about "nutritional value tables". The nutritional value is only as good as how the feeder is raised. I just did a quick google search on them and it seems that they reproduce (like most roaches) quite quickly and easily.

i keep them but don't feed them off, though they are supposed to make good feeders, also thay are pathogenic so every adult roach you have will give birth. there one down fall is thay are supposed to be able to climb glass (though i haven't seen this) and they will try and bury them selves if thay are left loose in a tank.

Yes, I posted the same in the feeders forum, but usually there is more feedback in this forum....

This roaches are a small, soft bodied roach, ther measure a few milimeters when they are babies, and about 2-3 centimeters (about 1 inch) as grown ups.... I am ordering 60 now, they shall be here in a couple of days, just feed once or twice and to see my geckos having them, if they work out ok I will try to start breeding them myself!!! :cheer:

Well, I don't want to sound stupid but I don't like them (regular house roaches), I am a bit afraid of them because they are FAST, yeiks!

I am not sure how good of a feeder house roaches are.... I used to have a H. mabouia and he (well, she) LOVED to eat the dwarf house roach.... like a miniature version, he couldn't get enough, but I was brave enough to catch them, the big ones I really doub it

what bout the normal house c0ckroach? i hate them... they move really fast...

i mean yes you can use them but you might have a problem with them if they escape because most of the roaches found in houses are vary cold tolerant and as you mentioned thay are fast
