That's great that he's thermoregulating ! (Moving between hides to keep warm and cool down) however, is he doing it a lot, like he doesn't stay in one place at all?

Place the humid on hide on the warm side, above the UTH so it

- Increases humidity.
- keeps it warm, you do not want a cold and wet Gecko.

Vet appointment is tomorrow afternoon. Any transportation ideas would be appreciated. It's a very short trip, only a few blocks.

He's more alert today, eyes open, and I watched him enter the humid hide for a drink. I can't tell you how happy I felt, watching him do something normal! He took his time licking from the floor, and sides of the hide, then back to his warm corner for naptime.

I contacted a local reptile rescue and rehab fella today. He's willing to take little Skinny on if I don't think I can handle his care. I'll see what the vet says and go from there. I can't say how much I appreciate everyone's help here, your input and support has allowed me to at least get this little guy to this point, where he can get to a vet and be properly assessed. Thank you all so much!

Hello!

1. For transportation, a Kriket Keeper will be OK or even a plastic container with a secure lid. Place a blanket over the top of it so that your Leo can't see out , this will reduce stress.

2. That is great that he's drinking!

3. That is great, well done, a very responsible action

Vet visit was productive, and I liked the guy! He was easy to talk to, and answered my questions with patience and clarity, after taking exhaustive notes about my little fella's short history and condition. The possible prolapse doesn't seem to be too much of a concern, just watch him of course. He seems to think I've got a decent shot at rehabbing this fella, and sent me home with liquid antibiotics as a wide-spectrum precautionary measure.

The vet also gave me instructions on how to mix and administer Carnivore Care, which should be delivered here tomorrow. He was very nice about helping me work within my budget, and said I could keep on with the Pedialyte mixed with water in his humid hide, since he seems to like drinking from there now. I can also use the Pedialyte to mix up the Carnivore Care.

Everyone is the office came by to check him out, they had never had such a tiny animal in there before. He weighed in at 5.2 ounces! The vet also gave me some cool cricket food to try out; Hi-Ca, by Mizuri, to gutload my feeders, which of course I won't be feeding to this little one quite yet.

You can see right through him!

Hi Saskia, thanks for asking! He's doing much better, and I've got a lot of hope for him. He ate his first phoenix worms just a couple of hours ago. I've never been so happy to see an animal eat!

Monday the 12th, after a liquid feeding:

Yesterday, the 14th, again after a liquid feeding. I love that gecko smile...he looks as if he's plotting something!

Just a few hours ago, going after those tiny phoenix worms:

I thank everyone who has helped, cared, and encouraged me to help this little fella.

Hello!

That's great news that he managed to eat some solid food.

Have you got any digital scales, I recommend keeping a note of his weight.

Thanks for everyone's support and kind words! Little Skinny is now eating live food..YAY! Not having to catch him and torture him with the liquid food has both of us less stressed.

I disable small crickets and leave them in the food dish. They disappear pretty quickly, however when I'm around he hides. I hope to work on taming him soon, however I'm more concerned with getting some weight on him first. I'm also feeding Phoenix worms, and he likes those too.

Hello!

More food?

So tiny!

Hello,

How is your Gecko?

Hi! Thanks for asking after little Skinny. He's doing well, eating lots of small crickets. I don't know where he puts them all! His tail has stored fat on it now, he's not so skinny anymore!

He no longer runs when my attention is on him, he actually comes to the side of the tank and stares, with that "where's my FOOD?!" look on his face. He can't run away fast enough when my hand goes in the tank, but at least he doesn't run when I look at him anymore.

Look how tiny he still is! Adorable.

His color is changing with every shed, showing that yellow now.

This is definitely a feel-good thread, dynaMOna!

Skinny has shown remarkable progress since you first posted in early May. Wish that some other leos were this lucky.

Thank you everyone for your input and caring! This little guy makes me smile every day, and I'm so thankful he got a shot at life.

I'll take some new shots, since he's getting more comfortable being out of his hide. His personality is showing, and the quirky things he does are so much fun to observe. He wiggles his tail sometimes before he strikes at a cricket, making me wonder if he's got some rattlesnake somewhere in his family tree :D There is never any question about if he's hungry, he's got no problem coming to my side of his tank and staring at me, then checking the food dish, then coming back to stare. GAH, he's just so damn cute!
