unhealthy gecko?

Hello i just got a new leo and i was wondering what type of morph i got20141217_145845.jpgi don't know if that worked but i was also wondering that in the past 3 days he ate about 15 small roaches but i have seen any poo? Sould i be worried? Well my geckos name is fluffnut roach bane, or fluffy for short. He is around 9-10 months and i got him Dec. 13. He has all ready warmed up to me in fact he is snuggling in my hood now. Thank you

Welcome to the new cutie~

Sounds like his appetite is there, which is good! I'll leave the morph identification to someone else but there are two important things that should be addressed

1) How are the temperatures on the floor (warm dry hide) on the warm side?
2) Could you get a photo of his belly? You can pop him in a see-through container and take a photo from below

well i going to get light dimer for my heat lamp. i have a 100w ceramic heat bulb. i would get a uth but i will be getting a second gecko to put in that cage and when i do i will change the habitat so fluffnut doesn't get mad. i will change it to sand and clay mix so it looks natural but solid so they can't eat it. i don't think a uth would be good for it. i will take a photo later because i just put him in.

Well leopard geckos need belly heat to digest so that's probably why he's not done any poos :(

Stuff like clay can't be on an UTH, true. However, you could solve the problem by doing tile on the warm end and clay on the cold end.

Welcome, Fluffy!

How are you doing for ground temperatures as measured by a digital thermometer with a probe? We recommend 88-93*F max on the warm end with about 70*F ground on the cool end.

Be prepared to have a second cage in case they don't get along. Better accurately sex the one you have before adding another. Geckos are solitary and don't usually do well with "friends" especially when they are already almost adults.

If you get a new gecko next month, you'll need to keep it separate from Fluffy for at least a month for quarantine. From the picture you posted, it looks likely that Fluffy is a female. It's possible she has eggs but you should know within the next month whether or not she does (because she'll lay them). If she is a female and you ever want to keep a new gecko with her, get another female.

Fluffy seems to me to be a normal leopard gecko that may have a gene for blizzard since she is so speckled. She may be a snow if her light bands are white. She is not a super snow.

the pic i got was to blurry but i can now clearly see pores and bulges. and also i got a second heat lamp which has two places for the bulbs so i got a low light uvb light and another heat bulb. yesterday he did poop for the first time:yahoo: and it was almost the size of a small egg. i felt so bad for the poor little thing:(. i will post if any thing goes wrong.

:yahoo: for HIS poop! :yikes: on the size! Sounds as if he was a bit "backed up".

You may wish to consider using one of those new sockets for a 15 watt incandescent bulb dimmed to half power and on during the day to mimic a photo period. At least you could give it a try. :) Mine is shaded by a tall silk palm tree. This seems to bring my leo out and about more during the day.

Well i have a 13W uvb bulb the puts of light because i have a plant in there. In the other socket i put a small 100W heat bulb that is ceramic. The temps are up to 90 degrees and was 82. poor gecko. Right now i have him in my hood after feeding. I tyied to hand feed him and he bit me instead of the roach!:coverlaugh:.
