New unhealthy babys

So a few hours ago I got two unhealthy baby's from a friend. He didn't know that they we're unwell and nether did I until I received them. They we're kept in a half quart bug container with nothing but sand. Their as skinny as a stick and missing basically all their toes. The orange one has only two full toes and the rest are missing. The spotted one has most of her toes but three are pinched to a pulp red and bleed sometimes, I think I might need to take them off. I plan to sell them after their healed. Please help thank you.

Hi ~

Your number one priority is keeping both new leos in strict quarantine away from Blaze, Fluffnut, and Titan for about 90 days. That probably means a different room in your home. Be sure to care for the new arrivals AFTER Blaze, Fluffnut, and Titan. Wash your hands thoroughly between leos. I don't want your leos catching any of sort of "bugs", not parasites anyway!

Will you be able to give them all they need in the mean time? Bigger homes and all?

Is only the nail area inflamed? Be sure to keep the one with the bleeding toes on paper towels until the toes heal.

How are their appetites?

Their in a separate container with paper towels and plastic deli cups, I will post a picture tomorrow. I haven't fed them yet because I don't want to stress them out and the food I got is to big, tomorrow I will get small worms. I gave both a lukewarm bath.

keep an eye on the toes/nails that are necrotic. They should fall off on their own with no adverse results. But, keeping any eye on them will allow you to observe if the necrosis keeps spreading to living tissue. A small, light covering with a triple antibiotic ointment should do the trick. I like bacitracin personally.

Edit....NITRILE GLOVES....pick up a 100 count box and if you don't know how to do a proper glove change, youtube. Gloves go a long way when dealing with ill animals.

Your 2 new ones should be a super hypo tangerine carrot-tail baldy, and the other I'd bet pretty strongly on being het for blizzard and possibly expressing Mack Snow. The het blizzard give away it the heavy, but fine spotting.

OK will do and I will watch for the toes. Oh and the baby's look just like my geckos and even have the same personality! Later today I will get smaller worms with calcium and take a picture of the tank.

Since I feed my hatchlings after the first week or two regular sized mealworms, I don't know that you need to get smaller ones for these guys.

I suggest a much larger bin, like a 56 quart bin. That will give them an adequate "playground" for exercise. Then you'll have space for a larger water dish.

When I get a chance I will get a bigger container. If you look closely at the picture I do have a UTH, I haven't checked the exact temps but it feels fine and they have already relived themselves. They still haven't eaten but I'm not surprised. Oh and by the way I named the tangerine "Mango" and the mack snow "dapol" (I don't if that's how its spelled).
