Does anyone have uvb meter? Just as I think I have everything, this meter pops up. It's only 250 bucks . Lol.
My boy Cecil has arcidia uvb light 12inches above floor. Be exact it's t5 6% 24w 22" d3 reptile lamp .
This meter may be important. Does anyone have any info , or has one, used one?
I'm sure I'll pick one up, might as well, throwen reason out window long x ago.
Thanks for any info20171116_171646.jpg

If I felt like spending an extra $250 (in addition to the $50 every other week I spend on crickets) I'd get one because then I'd know exactly when to replace the bulbs in the cages of my diurnal reptiles.

The holidays are just around the corner! Treat yourself and your leos to a Solarmeter 6.2. There may be a newer Solarmeter available.

A quality Solarmeter is an excellent investment to make.

I have and use the Solarmeter 6.5, which allows the user to ascertain the UV index to which your animal is exposed at any given time/position.

At that point all you need to know is the appropriate level you should be providing per species, and you can determine the suitability of your setup at a glance.

Well got my solormeter 6.5 in. Looks like arcidia 6% t5 is littel to strong for 12" ceiling. With T5 I'd need ceiling of 19" for it be in at just .7. The Ferguson zone 1 is .4 to .7 for leopard geckos. Well now half get bulky t8 that last half live of t5.

Have you seen the Slimline fixture for T8s? It's 18 inches long. That's what I use for 4 Phelsuma's Reptisun 5.0 fluorescent tubes.

Zoo Med Reptisun tube fluorescents last about 1 year before needing to be replaced.
