Little flies in waxworms problem

Hi. Nearly Everytime that I keep wax worms in their container that they are sent in, after a few days, I'll get these extremely tiny flies in the container. I don't really know how to prevent them or why they're there. My Mealworms and Dubia never have this problem. I would show a video but idk how because I don't use this site often. Idek If I've ever posted a forum before lol. Oh and also, after opening the waxworm container, one managed to escape and I found and killed it in the mealworm container. In the mealworm container, I have the rest of the pepper skins (they ate everything else,) and oatmeal as substrate for them.

There's a chance they are fruit flies. I get them with my crickets pretty often and then they lay eggs in the water crystals and I have fruit fly maggots. If they're flying around the house you may be able to catch them by putting out some small cups of vinegar that they will be attracted to and then drown.

Hello Sinox ~

It's a good idea to switch to Pro Gutload dry diet for your insects' food and worm bedding. Pro Gutload dry diet contains significantly less phosphorus than oatmeal. Phosphorus inhibits calcium absorption.

Aliza (GU's acpart) uses this already ground dry diet from "Professional Reptiles" for her insect and worm food as well as for her mealworm/superworm bedding.
