Hi,
Can anyone help in any way. My 5 month old leopard gecko is refusing food and has been doing this a little over a week now! She has maybe eaten 2-3 mealworms since last week! She is usually quite a good eater and will eat around 8-12 mealworms each evening without any bother. She then started refusing food every other evening but would then eat an ok amount the day after so I wasn’t too concerned. Now she won’t eat anything! I have tried different foods such as crickets and locusts but she won’t even look. If I put food right in front of her or wiggle it about, she will lick it and walk off. She hasn’t shown any interest in anything. Last week she weighed 39g and she’s lost 1g this week through not eating. She’s looking quite skinny today and is still refusing food. She is quite happy to come out and be handled. I have checked the temperature in her vivarium and both the temp and humidity is the same as it’s always been, if anything, I have increased the temp slightly to 32 degrees Celsius to see whether she was cold. She hasn’t been in her cooler hide the last week or so either, she prefers to be either in her hot hide or mostly in the tiny Coconut one we have tried to also place on the warm side, she refuses to leave this one!
She seems fine in herself, I’ve checked her nose, eyes and skin for anything out of the ordinary but there’s no change. She also would have been due a shed within the last few days but with her not eating, she doesn’t appear to be preparing to shed.
I have left mealworms in a dish in her viv over night to give her peace to eat them when she wants them but she hasn’t eaten anything.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
