QUESTION: Best way to remove old UTH pad from bottom of tank glass??

Hey all,
I've decided to upgrade my UTH. I have a 20 gallon long tank. For the last, almost 6 years, I've been using an 8" x 12" Zoo Med UTH on my tank. I've decided to go with the next larger UTH pad, as Elizabeth had recommended it to me years back. Anyway, I do a major/thorough cleaning of Scooby's tank 4 times a year, and it's that time of year, so while I'm cleaning the tank, and everything in it, I'd also like to pull the old UTH pad off the bottom/outside and put the new one on. I know these pads are really sticky and was wondering what I'm going to run into removing it and what's the best way to get it done? Any advice?

PS - I'm not worried about damaging the old pad, as I plan on throwing it away.

Hey there ~
Yahoo! That's AWESOME news for Scooby!
For Scooby's upgrade I highly recommend Ultratherm's 11 x 17 inch heat mat. That should fit Scooby's 20 gallon long enclosure precisely. :)
Are you looking for recommendations on who sells these?

A citrus-powered cleaner called Goo Gone will definitely help remove sticky residue your 8 x 12 leaves behind.
